Lyrics

Derek the geothermal research guy was lonely
He's been hanging up the mistletoe and building up the fire all day
He lies in his igloo dreaming of his one and only
But Nature calls, and he has to get away
He could see his frosty breath as he paces round and round
Trying to keep his mind off his frozen toes
An icy tear falls and shatters at his feet
He hears the sound of memories
As a fountain of magma erupts from down below

Oh, Magma Lady
Everybody seems to doubt you (or your existence)
Oh, Magma Lady
It wouldn't be Christmas without you

Derek's dancing a tango in a hellish rain of magma
he ducks and dives with a fiendish glint in his eye
It's all he could wish for it's all he has ever wanted
Derek's thrilled and he knows he might just die
There's a molten piece of rock flying at his head
For a moment he thinks of the folks back home
And deep in his heart he knows that lava is his real home anyway
He tangos on with his eyes closed
And skips across the glowing rocky foam

Oh, Magma Lady
Everybody seems to doubt you (or your existence)
Oh, Magma Lady
It wouldn't be Christmas without you

Without you the polar bears would still have ice to stand on
Without you Santa would still have a strip to land on
Without you Derek would feel desperately old
Without you the children would all be miserable and cold

Oh, Magma Lady
Everybody seems to doubt you (or your existence)
Oh, Magma Lady
It wouldn't be Christmas without you
